THE MORE THINGS CHANGE

The More Things Change

Directed by Akati Khasiani & George ‘Mars’ Aloo

Structured as a triptych, “The More Things Change” explores the personal and community cost of political resistance from three different perspectives, set in three different time periods in Kenya.

Neema, a journalist at an independent newspaper, struggles to break an important story in the wake of a nationwide ban on political reporting; After being rendered homeless, Caro hits back at the faceless forces that are unlawfully demolishing her neighborhood for personal gain; and Jay, a rebellious hacker, seeks out her sister who has gone missing while on a government exchange trip to Lebanon.

How far will they go?
