GEOGRAPHICAL FOCUS

Films must be created or co-created by filmmakers from Africa or the African Diaspora. This includes individuals of African descent, regardless of their country of residence.

PRODUCTION DATE

Films must have been completed after January 1, 2021.

CATEGORIES

FICTION: Narrative films that tell a fictional story.

DOCUMENTARY: Non-fiction films that explore real-life subjects and stories.

SHORT: Films with a runtime of 50 minutes or less, including credits.

ANIMATION: Films that use animation techniques to tell their story.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

LANGUAGE: Films can be in any language but must include English subtitles if not in English.

FORMAT: Films should be submitted digitally (MP4, MOV, or

equivalent).

RIGHTS: Submitters must have the legal right to enter the film into the festival and to screen it publicly.

SUPPORTING MATERIALS

With the film, submitters may be required to provide a synopsis, director’s biography, promotional stills, and a trailer.
